The Grand Acquisitions Race Follow-up :)

With the event ended technically tonight when the game goes down for maintenance/patching, I figured I’d post some stuff about it 😀 Before I do, I will just say I ended up buying the Automatic Bowcaster for Cellina. I noticed it wasn’t actually shown on her post about the event so I looked it up and it is awesome and totally fits her so I bought it and yeah 😛 I also got my BH Commendations for my Hat so just 1 Advanced Mettle Mod 26, 2 Advanced Quick Savant Enhancement 26, 1 Advanced Resolve Hilt 26, and 2 Advanced Resolve Armoring 26 to go. (Which I can now afford–just need the stupid Grade 8 stuff — And thanks to a very nice friend, got the money to buy from Elidibs so yay T~T Thank you! So, stuff sent off. Gonna see if my boyfriend can lend me 100K-200K so I won’t be completely poor)

Overall, I liked it. I love events though and even enjoyed the Rakghoul event despite zombies and creepiness. However, I will say it felt like there was more effort put into the latter. With all the codexes telling the story, so much to do, and many more dialogue options (sure, you didn’t speak for this event and it made sense not to but…) and things, it felt a bit more fulfilling in that sense.

Regardless, this event was still interesting and while I can’t speak for other servers, at least on Corellian Run, most people were nice, polite, and helpful. I mean, we had organized lines on both factions. That isn’t to say there were no jerks–like I said, most people were nice, but not everyone. I did have one guy race ahead and take my box v-v;

I thought there were quite a bit of fun things as well which was nice. One thing I kind of wish they did was make it so during the event, players would have to go to another’s capital city for some of the items. It could’ve been a safe zone or something and I think that would’ve been a neat effect. I would probably say the biggest different between the Imperial and Republic side would be the puzzle for the Collected Writings of Tiethiagg. The Republic just had you match all 5 terminals (which you just clicked until it was the color you wanted) to the specific color for each circle according to the diagram on the floor. The Imperial’s had you turning mirrors and a laser gun to fire a laser to reflect off the mirrors to hit the crate to open it. It wasn’t hard (very limited moving needed to be done), but it actually took a bit more thought, in my opinion, to do. Of course, I was waiting almost 10 minutes for someone to finish to Republic Puzzle the first time I did it…

The only other big difference was the fight during the introduction quest. The Republic had you kill the droid first while the Imperial had you hit these glowy blue things in front of the guy to get their shields down. Besides the obvious change of locations, there was no difference in mechanics or what you needed to do. Well, maybe slightly with the Plasma-Sealed Jar–for the Republic you just went off those edge-platforms with no barrier (most usually have a taxi a little bit away from them–but there are a few that are empty) and for the Imperial you went up a ramp to get over the barrier. I found the Republic’s more surprising, but that’s just me.

My only real complaint about the event was how hard they made it to get everything. You could earn, at minimum, 105 Tokens if you did all the quests. That is it. Any other tokens would only be if you didn’t get all 6 parts for Vandrayk’s Tuning Apparatus on the first shot (which is rare, but happened–most people could at least get 4-5 easily and the 6th within about 20-30 boxes). The total for actually getting all the items sold by the Vendor is 811. Of course, if you did get lucky and got a pet from one of the crates, it’d only be 561…but that is still over 400 more than what you’d get from doing the quests. None are repeatable, the crates have a 10 minute spawn rate (and have a few difference places each crate can spawn so there’s no guarantee it’ll spawn in the same spot), and you have competition from:
1. People who need the Vandrayk’s Tuning Apparatus parts.
2. People who also want tokens.
3. People looking for the pet.
4. People who are looking to sell them.

That’s…just a huge pain and I feel incredibly sorry for anyone on a PVP server. At least you can open the boxes while being attacked or in-combat, but still. I mean, if you have all your character slots full, if you did the event on each, you’d have enough…but I had a hard enough time doing it on 2 😛

I know a lot of people also complained about the rewards, but I think pretty much all the complaints are silly. If there’s nothing you like, well, good for you? The prizes will probably always fit the event–simple as that. We had crystals for the last event (which, while all classes use, is not as big of a deal for non-Jedi/Sith classes) so… besides that, it was just infected skins (which I thought were horrifying and I hate every time I run into someone using one) for Companions and a pet (at a much more reasonable price). I believe the main issue there was with those said skins as:
1. They were Bound
2. It was random which you got (so you could get one for a class you don’t even expect to ever play)

Going back to the Grand Acquisitions Event, let us go over the prizes:
1. The Bowcasters – We’re doing an event on Nar Shaddaa with things like Smuggler’s Crates and shootouts. I’m sorry, but weapons that are gun-related just make sense. I think my only issue is how few companions use Sniper Rifles (and few specs in general) and I think those are some of the nicer ones. Some of the Blaster Rifle ones are okay too, but not as many there.
2. The Sand People Outfit – Nobody actually really had an issue with this one too much. Not too badly priced and will be Bind to Legacy sometime soon. To be honest though, this seemed more fitting for the Rakghoul Event in my opinion, but it was a nice item to see and a lot of people I’ve seen picked up at least parts of it.
3. Sparkle Powder – I’m guessing this is more of a “if you want to spend your tokens but have nothing else you want” thing, but it’s still cute and people do enjoy having fun with Sparkle Powder. They did mention Sparkle Powder coming out in various colors so it was nice to see it…I just hope it comes in a more permanent way.
4. Hyrotii Scrapper – This probably has a bigger hate than the Bowcasters do. This is because it is 90% like most Rank 1 Speeders over the 110% that Rank 3 Speeders have. People said this wasn’t fair to those who were 50 and no longer leveling to have to get a “low level” speeder. The stupidity in this is that the point of the speeder is for it’s look and effects. It is a broken down, crooked speeder. It sounds like it has fireworks going off, there’s sparks from the motor, electricity sparking under it, a light that is out and smoking which thus, leaves a smoke trail as you drive around. It makes sense that it only goes 90%. It has a neat effect and looks cool and if you enjoyed the speeder from the Jar item quest, well, this is the same one (just 40% faster). I could see this being more popular with RP servers, but I’ve seen a few people (My boyfriend included) who really want this speeder for certain characters as they’d find it fitting. (Unfortunately, my boyfriend will most likely not get one as it is bound and there is no way I can get 1.5 million to make my trooper and get both her and his smuggler to their ships to go to Nar Shaddaa for the Event. Which I feel quite bad about, honestly.
5. Lobelot – I will say it is way overpriced. I am guessing the price is due to the fact that it is possible to get it from boxes, but it is still kind of ridiculous. Most people say it is ugly which fine, whatever, your taste and all ( find all pets cute though) but saying it doesn’t fit is kind of silly. I will just link to this for more information. Also stuff on the Akk Dogs. However, the #1 argument, once people realize or remember there is also a Lobel pet (The Lobelisk) sold by the PVP Items Vendor is that the pet is “just a recolor” in which I kind of just…want to slap them. Most of the pets are recolors. While some of the newer pets (1.2 onward) have individual sounds, what they do is the same per species. There are very few that do anything different or are unique. So, I’m just going to go over it real quick:
—-1. Raklings: All 3 are just recolors. They roar, pace back and forth, and jump twice. They all run with their arms and feet.
—-2. Akk Dogs: All 3 are just recolors. They scratch their face with their left paw, look side to side, roar, and put their head down to the floor (almost as if they were going to eat). However, each one makes a different sound.
—-3. Hutt Observer – The only completely unique pet. The middle of it constantly spins and it looks from left to right. Also hovers up and down.
—-4. Interrogation Droid and The Czerka Eye – Two of the semi-unique pets. They share the same round body with a few changes. They both hover up and Down and look left to right. Interrogation Droid pulls in and sticks back out its long stick…thing that is at the bottom of it and spins it when out. The Czerka Eye Spins it’s long antenna like-thing at the back of it’s head that sticks up.
—-5. Little Sandcrawler and Mouse Droid – Two of the semi-unique pets. Both Little Sandcrawler and Mouse Droid have the same form in a sense, but the top decorations are different (and of course, they are different colors). Bot have the 3 little thingys at the back, but Little Sandcrawler has 3 tall thingys in front of those and then in the little top circle, a block with two sticks coming out of it. Mouse Droid, however, has a blank indented space where Little Sandcrawler’s 3 Tall thingys are and in the circle, a round thing that kind of looks like a camera. It also has a thing that looks kind of like one of those Wind Energy thingys that spins to the left of the circle. Both spin.
—-6. Lobels – All 3 are recolors (though, only 2 can be gotten right now). They lean forward and look back and forth. However, each one makes a different sound.
—-7. Minimechs – Both are recolors. They both spin and the thingys on the top of them go up and down.
—-8. Orobirds – All 3 are recolors (Though, Wonderous Egg/Orochick is still a mystery). They look side to side and open their mouth. Each one makes a different sound.
—-9. Tauntauns – 4 of them are just recolors. The only one not just a recolor is Tauntaun Ram who has two large horns and a backpack. It is the same model otherwise though. They slide their foot across the ground, open their mouth, and look side to side. Each one makes a different sound.

Sure, some of the sounds are similar and/or use some parts from others, but all are unique overall. I went and recorded them here. So, yes, out of the 23 confirmed pets (not counting the Lobelode since it has not been confirmed to be out), 17 of them are just recolors. And personally, I love them all the same~

Besides that, there are rumors going around about something special happening tomorrow for those who completed the event. Good thing I am still on Nar Shaddaa…unless it’ll be on Coruscant. Not I’m panicking. I remember seeing this on Tumblr, but I never got one on Amidaia…and I never got a Republic version. Regardless, I hope that’s not an issue and I’m not sure how to feel just yet.

Researching, Boxes, Info, Answers, Gear

As usual, I will probably ignore the order of my header and get to each part as I feel like it 😛 When it comes to pets, I will always have a lot to say and will probably end up answering with more than you even cared to know.

I was hoping to do a lot of Research today. Maybe try running Lost Island normal to see if any pets dropped, maybe try running around places in search of a Lobelode, more box hunting, more Orochick theories… in the end, I didn’t do much of any of it. I ended up noticing I was very close to getting another War Hero Relic of Boundless Ages so I decided to bite the bullet and go ahead and do so realizing regardless of whether I went with the slightly less crit chance or not, it was still an increase to healing regardless.

From there, I decided to work on getting Black Hole Commendations and I managed to get…very interesting groups. A lot of first timers each time and so things didn’t exactly go flawlessly, but at least one ended well. (Second the new people gave up, but Elidibs went and took me to finish it up…third, I had to go…and then Stoic dragged me off to KP NM–thankfully, my boyfriend got to go too so now he has the codexes and title :3)

I am now 2 BH Commendations short from getting my hat and hopefully a Mettle Mod 26 with it too. Hopefully I can do Corellia/Black Hole later. I wanted to do it now, but after more craziness, it just too late and I’m exhausted. As for what craziness, I was then dragged to PVP while also helping people do the event 😛 was very interesting.

Regardless, that will leave me with 1 Advanced Mettle Mod 26, 2 Advanced Quick Savant Enhancement 26, 1 Advanced Resolve Hilt 26, and 2 Advanced Resolve Armoring 26 to go.

I actually only need 100K more for the Armoring… but I, of course, need to buy the Grade 8 Materials which is an extra 300K-800K credits v-v; just…so frustrated about it.

Also, just really want to make my Trooper already. Seriously, the hold slot is really starting to bug me. Why must just extra colors be 1.5 million? T__T whhhhy.

Moving on, the mod and enhancements are still like 500K each on average. The Hilt, however, will have to be gotten from HM EC (from Kephess) which I am not looking forward to. Similarly, I do still need at least one more Campaign armoring piece for the 2-piece set bonus back (which while I don’t need, is at least helpful). I need either the Gloves (Mine guy) or the Boots (Nightmare Pilgrim) so hopefully I can get that all taken care of soon.

The next operation is supposedly the next update so it may be silly to be working so hard when the gear will be outdated shortly. But I just want to be done and prepared before the update. Similarly, I want all my characters made properly and ready to go (and I just have Zoara waiting for the 1.5 million to do that).

I just…hate making lists longer. I still have stuff from the first Legacy update I need and I just feel I’m getting further and further behind and it’s making me depressed .__.

finally, since people are asking about the Password protected stuff…they are, more often than not, little backstory writing things about my characters (or in actual character) and made-up stories. While I don’t mind people reading my thoughts (even if I will never understand why), I’m pretty shy with my story-writing so those will always be super-secret-private and whatnot. …I don’t think anyone really minds/cares anyway.

A Suspicious Mail

So, I logged in today to find a message from Agent Reeho:

From: Agent Reeho
Subject: Received the acquisitions safely

All the items you sent have been secured at SIS headquarters. (Some have been “secured” more than others–this stuff is strange.)

I don’t know how well we can compensate you, but you did the right thing. The Chevin are ruthless and clever; if a Gree fleet really is coming, we can’t afford to be second in a race for their allegiance.

Time to get ready.

–Agent Reeho

That last part really gets my attention. “Time to get ready.” For what? Will there be a full ending to this? (unlike the Rakghoul Event which didn’t really have a very proper conclusion) Or is it a hint towards the new operation and Warzone? While I know the Warzone was already stated to have Gree technology, I remember an interview mentioned the Operation as well–despite also being a continuation (I believe the finale as well) of the Dread Master-operation-story thing.

So much to think about T~T Half tempted to go back to Nar Shaddaa now though, JUST in case…

On a different note, I ran into someone who probably had the same Legacy name as me on another server so I guess I feel bad a bit v-v (but thank god we were a Destination Server T__T)

The final Quest

First of all, SO MUCH AWESOME. The leap of faith and omg T~T so cool. I went ahead and recorded the Imperial version. I think the Republic one was a little better due to not having the obvious ramp. The lack of a barrier has been in a few places (even with nothing to do) so it seemed more surprising there over the ramp off on the Imperial side.

We may try and do it on some of our other characters (as much as it will suck to get through some areas) and if we do get Miisha up there, I’ll probably record her going through it. And maybe Cellina too. You can see just how much I suck at their classes 😛

Regardless, I had lots of fun. I kind of wonder if anything else will happen considering this was supposed to be to win favor with the Gree. Makes me wonder if something may happen this weekend that wasn’t elaborated on, but who knows. We ended up giving to SIS/Imperials for each our characters–both with the reason of hoping to get some of the Gree technology for their side (or in Amidaia’s case, herself) over letting the Chevin’s do who knows what being a Crime Syndicate and all. Regardless, SO HAPPY FOR THE HAGNOFFARL! so cute.

…remind me to take a better picture later since it’s white and not purple.

Been debating on getting Cellina a bow-sniper thingy as she uses a Blaster Rifle….but they’re so ugly in comparison to the Sniper Rifles 🙁 If I got her one, maybe the Light Bowcaster or Kashyyk’s Legacy? Regardless, I already gave my boyfriend all my tokens so.

Besides that, there is another trailer up for upcoming stuff. Very excited~ Still debating on what I could have as a Cathar though… I honestly don’t have a clue. Maybe I’ll just hope I dislike the options.

Anyway, going back to event talk…my boyfriend wants close to 1,000 of them for everything he wants >_> So we’re probably going to try and get Miisha and his trooper up and also go box hunting later…may record the leveling (and my sucky playing of her) and box hunting later.

Edit: Better picture:

Event ends next week, Rifle-bow Craziness, + Gearing

So, the event ends next Tuesday. This doesn’t surprise me as it is a relatively short event with no repeating. However, some people are kind of annoyed and I sort of get that? I mean, in total, it would cost 811 Tokens of Enrichment to get EVERYTHING. Sure, I doubt someone would want everything (and you can take off 250 if you get lucky and get a Lobelot in a crate), but that’s still a lot…especially when you only get like 10% of that. Maybe more when the event finishes but still, that is a lot of crate hunting. While the vendor will be here a week after the event ends, I’m not sure if the crates will still linger around…

Anyway, a lot of people are pissed off about the Rifle-Bow as it only benefits a select few classes and companions. I…don’t really see the big deal? I mean, it makes sense a Shady Dealer on Nar Shaddaa would have stuff like that, in my opinion. Regardless, I decided to buy a Precision Bowcaster for Risha. I think it’d fit her.

In the meantime, with 1.4 so close, I’m panicking even more about gear 🙁 I wish I just had 3 million-5 million credits so I could get this over it.

A New Lead: Droid Racing

This is a fun and simple little quest…which isn’t exactly cheating considering each Droid teamed up against the other one anyway. On the otherhand, if there were no traps, the Gonk Droid would lose to begin with due to being much slower and on the outer edge. I adore Gonk droids though so…

MOVING ON… I was surprised to see a line even this early! Afterall, when I went and did yesterday’s quest, nobody was there. Finally, it hit me. This is the first quest limited to one group at a time where both factions will be doing it, thus, lines. I’m afraid of the one later when I show my boyfriend how to do it.

Regardless, it’s simpler than I expected (actually thought you’d get sent to a race track and need to hit the other racers or keep things off the Gonk Droid or something) and still kind of fun. Looking forward to tomorrow’s quest and will do this again later with Amidaia too~

Up to date on Both Sides

So, got it all done on the Imperial side and thankfully, unlike the Rakghoul Event, you do not need to do them in order so if you just get online Friday, you can do them all right then and there. Because of this, however, I see the event not lasting very long. The one thing that bothers me about the event, besides the chances with the crates, are the fact that once you do everything, the only way to get more Tokens are through those crates. The smallest you can get (if you did get all the pieces in each crate and no tokens) without getting tokens from crates is 85 Tokens. …And well, maybe you get more when you officially finish, but until that is confirmed… Regardless, that’s not much at all so the prices are pretty expensive.

Looking forward to the next part later. Would love to stay up for it, but need to get some rest. Not feeling well.

On the bright side, there was another cute line on the Imperial side too :3 (Unfortunately, screenshots weren’t working so I couldn’t take one -___-) Everyone can be so nice when they want to be~ …besides that, someone was bragging about having at least 10 million credits T___T I wish I was in that position ._.

A relief

So, one of the awesomely awesome developers posted this:

Hi folks,
We wanted to inform you all that there is currently an issue with the missions A Lead, A New Lead, and Another Lead. The way the Chevin Event works is that players can find the first six items of the mission The Grand Acquisitions Race whenever at their leisure. The next three items will unlock on a daily basis for everyone, regardless of what step players are on in the main event quest. (item #7 unlocks today, item #8 tomorrow, and item #9 unlocks on Friday).
Players are currently running into an issue that when they complete the mission, A Lead (item #7), the UI marks Another Lead (item #9) as complete with no item given to the player.
DO NOT WORRY. These three missions are merely hints. You DO NOT need this mission to appear in your Mission Log in order to activate it. It will unlock on a daily basis as I outlined earlier.
To be clear, you can STILL play these missions even if they are marked as complete. You just have to wait for their specific daily unlock.
For your convenience, I have posted the text for each mission below:

A Lead (Item #7 – Akar Kesh Meditation mask): A Sniffer droid is available to aid you in your search for the Akar Kesh Meditation mask, but is still undergoing programming. [unlocks today]
A New Lead (Item #8 – Black-and-Orange Sphere): Sapaaga the Hutt is refusing to speak to anyone at this time. Check back with the Hutt observation droid at the Lower Promenade on Nar Shaddaa later, when the Hutt’s string of losses may have made him more inclined to negotiate. [unlocks tomorrow]
Another Lead (Item #9 – Plasma-Sealed Jar): A Republic Slicing Droid is tapping into the Transportation Network Terminal in Shadowtown in Nar Shaddaa to locate information leading the Plasma-Sealed Jar. [unlocks Friday]

So, it’s just a glitch, but regardless, I’ll be okay! I should be able to finish. I’m so relieved. x-x Anyway, time to get my boyfriend up to speed and finish stuff up on our imperials!

In the meantime, I did look up the codexes and learned the titles:
1. Imperial side: Imperial Loyalist
2. Republic Side: SIS Freelancer
3. Chevins: Capable Sentient

I’m kind of leaning towards the Chevin one. I think the Republic one is kind of lame considering SIS Operative is a title you can get on Tatooine–a glitched title, but still a title you can get. Apparently this title was removed–not a glitch, regardless, I think it sounds better than SIS Freelancer… Imperial Loyalist isn’t bad, but none of my characters really are Imperial Loyalist? All my Imperial characters are neutral on the sides, if anything. I think it’s a nicer sounding title though.

I guess I’ll see how the story goes and pick which I think is better–after all, it’s one title only (because as expected, no repeatable quests).

A Lead Available

As expected, looks like a quest is available… so A New Lead and Another Lead will probably be available Tomorrow and the day after respectively.

…which means we really need to hurry up with our Imperial characters. We tried to get some done, but those crates are so tedious. Anyway, unfortunately, I camped on Nar Shaddaa so time to run to Coruscant real quick. I went and spent 20K on the Capital World Transport as it wasn’t too horribly priced and I figured it’d be useful for this event.

Apparently, the mask can also be gotten today due to a glitch X__x I think I’ll stay glitch-free, thanks. …even if the Hagnoffarl calls for me.

Regardless, I got to Coruscant and headed to the Justicar area to get to the Works as it’s closer to there than the actual Works area. This is a cute quest. More or less, you open the box for the repaired BD-R1 to pop out! You need to follow him to the mask. He wheels around and scans thing. At one point (and only one point–I actually expected it to be longer and more mobs but nope!), a mob will appear and BD-R1 will break down. You need to defeat the mob and repair him to continue the journey.

Then you just click the mask and that is it! You have finished for the day. Only catch is once again, only one group can do it at a time. 🙁 Thankfully, I managed to get mine done right away.

Unfortunately, I then noticed my “Another Lead” was missing. I do not have an extra item–I’m not sure how it glitched but I am completely having a heart attack. Sent a bug report and hope it gets fixed soon because otherwise, I will cry. T___T Anyway, shall end this here and get back to Nar Shaddaa later–have to go to work now ._.

Hagnoffarl spotted.

Saw 2 Imperial players with a Hagnoffarl minipet. Tried to ask them…but no response 🙁 gonna do some heavy duty searching.

Stressing quite a bit. Shall update this post with information.

Edit: Thanks to a nice person letting me know, apparently when you complete the race (there is currently a glitch that when you complete a certain space mission, the quest gets completed early), you receive the Hagnoffarl.

Phew.

…though, that makes me very suspicious about the whereabouts of the Lobelode.
