Hmm… + Cave Speculation + Tatooine

Well, after a very awkward PVP match last night (though, we won and it finished the daily), I hit valor rank 78. Yay.

Besides that, with 1.4 possibly looming overhead (still no announcement though–my guess is they are hoping to get it out tonight, but there may be some issues and they aren’t sure if they will be able to so no patch yet tonight. It is possible it could be later this week then if this week), I’m feeling a bit down that once again my goals are nowhere near complete. Sure, I managed to finish the gear-related ones…but while important to even do the new content, it is not as important to me 🙁

I technically still need gloves, but it isn’t a big thing. Only non-gear related stuff I finished were some of the quests I still had to go 🙁

I mean, I guess I’m making progress… but I still wish some of the first goals in my list could be done (Ship Legacy stuff–still need 6 million for that… and Orochick T__T).

Moving on, cave stuff! So, currently, from CKN’s livestream:

If that sounds familiar, well… this will be why.

It really makes me feel it is most likely something you can bring in that can change. I stated some stuff there, but it really makes me think of a color crystal with that kind of thing. Maybe an Adegan Crystal or a rough shard or the pristine version?

Besides that, went to Tatooine and pulled people up on the sandcrawlers again. That was fun. Someone even gave me 10K! So nice.

And may play alts again today~

Edit: According to my boyfriend, the KOTOR games also hint to this cave from the movie and thus, this could also be a hint to those. Must look up KOTOR stuff too. And of course, all of this coincides with the “old school” hint.

Q&A-ness

So, I am home and now reading over the Q&A (Yay for transcripts. I shall definitely watch after). To be honest, I’m super sad that I didn’t get to watch live 🙁 Regardless, yay for new information! If only it was longer.

BUT YES, ONTO THOUGHTS. I won’t comment on everything and mostly just highlight what I am excited about…but yeah XD

-Confirmed that Free to Play is coming in November.
-Some early gear sets. Also some experience boosts separate from legacy.
-New daily questing area coming soon~ (And we already knew about the Hypergates and stuff)
-Paid transfers are coming.
-” In a future update when we release Mekab there will be continuation of where the story left off.” yeeeeeeeeees.
-“you will see that a couple weeks before we launch the FTP option players can go into the PTS and our intent is for anybody that logs into PTS to get some Cartel Coins that they can play with only on PTS – those don’t xfer to the live game! We will have items for sale on PTS that people can go in, make purchase and give us feedback.” more yeeeeeeees. As for why this would excite me, it’d be nice to see stuff I’m going to want in the main game along with learning prices of things like…oh…I don’t know… PETS.
-Looks like the 350 BH Commendation Implants may be a mistake and not actually coming out immediately: “The side effect of PTS is that occasionally items that are not intended for live made it up there and unfortunately that specific item was the case of that. So that item in particular is going to be removed, reviewed, and hopefully a better version will come out in a future update.”
-While HK-51 will be out by the end of the year, Cathar may take somewhat longer: “Cathar and HK-51 are both in the works. HK-51 I am confident that you will see before the end of the year. Cathar have no definite timeframe at this point but we intend to introduce them as the first species in SWTOR.”
-Mounts and Pets for the Cartel Shop! Also some gear sets, but will have no impact on endgame. Sounds interesting: “The gear you will find will be interesting to everyone because it is not going to be restricted by class or by faction and all moddable”
-“We also have a really cool thing called Cartel packs. Cartel packs you buy give you a random assortment of really cool items and a chance to get some of the cooler items that maybe in the game (not powerful, but very cool – they going to make you look AMAZING!)” I just hope it’s just a pack of various items over some kind of random item box.
-Nightmare EC and Nightmare TfB will have various differences besides just being harder.
-Whether the XP Boosts and Rocket Boots will be overlaps of the legacy system or just alternate ways to purchase currently unknown as they couldn’t say.
-Cathar can be purchased with Cartel Coins (as well as credits I think? Wording is kind of odd). More may be available to as well over using credits.
-Hood toggle option still coming.
-More content for smaller groups of players coming.

There wasn’t really anything else in particular. Wish they answered some of the stuff I was really wondering about 🙁

  • So, SWTOR is doing an official livestream today answering questions about 1.4 and Free-to-Play. I’m pretty excited, even if I know most of the answers we hear probably won’t be too great but still.

    I just appreciate the fact that they are doing it.

    also, randomly, I will say while I will never use it in my life (nor will I be using the new oreo-themed colors though), I do kind of miss Banana!Sage. So R.I.P. May you one day reappear in the future.

    ANYWAY, back to my original topic… the Livestream they are doing starts at 5PM EST. It, sadly, will only last for 30 minutes but hopefully it will be an awesome 30 minutes. I will be sure to edit this post later with some highlights for me.

    I do expect them to say Terror from Beyond’s upcoming date, if anything–maybe even Free-to-Play’s as well. I would be surprised if TfB isn’t going to be out this Tuesday however… so I just hope I can be helpful to some people and get some goals done ASAP. In the meantime, I’m going to go update my codex list…

    EDIT: BUT BEFORE I DO THAT… I recently stumbled across this T~T I always find it nice when people find it helpful. Eeeee <3 And apparently some of my older threads had been linked in the past too! I’m just going to sit and be excited now. 😛

    Edit 2: Guess who is stuck iin the city and who’s phone apparently hates livestream? T___T keep me updated, I guess… shall watch when I get home so thoughts will be…

    • HM EC Progress and Bunnies

    So, the HM EC run tonight went well 🙂 We got to the tanks and got them to 52% and 59% on our second go, but then one person had to head to bed so we stopped there. Hoping to try again this weekend. I’m happy it went well–they were all so excited. And considering our tank was a random pick-up person with no experience… :3 He was really good.

    Besides that, a friend has essentially noted me as Bunnies due to an answer he gave about their healer tonight. 😛

    Also still watching some streams for more ideas on the Cave Mystery, but nothing yet 🙁

    As for the Orochick Mystery, the bug report ticket was sent to developers/wherever bugs go, but whether it really is a bug and/or is being worked on is yet to be known and I’m hoping I’ll get an answer back on that soon.

    Corellian Run Yesterday, The Shadowlands today

    I get what “The Shadowlands” are in Star Wars lore (and my boyfriend is constantly reminding me)–unfortunately, I can not see that and think of that. Seriously, just call it the Tree Canopy or something then 😐

    Moving on, I shall be watching carefully for the servers going back up. If your names are taken (which, thankfully, they should be going by whoever made them first…), whoever is on first obviously gets first shot at getting the change they want. So yes, you do have to be fast and yes, this means any names you tried to reserve yesterday will mean nothing. Also, all Legacy names will be reset (even if nobody has taken your name) due to the new system of them no longer being unique. This is your free reset so if you want to change your legacy name, THIS IS WHEN YOU WILL DO SO. Speaking of which, let’s bring up those poll results and… …seriously guys? 50/50? XP Okay, well, I guess since it is a tie, it’ll just have to go to the original name. ~*ORIGINAL NABERRIE AWAY*~

    I already know Aurorra and Cellina are gone due to the High Population Server test. Here are some spellings I thought up… Vote on which you think is best? (and hopefully we won’t have a tie again):

    (Note: We do have it on the Imperial side too! …I just don’t play that as much 🙁 )

    (edit: and for those who have send some worried messages, yes, I am honestly still upset 🙁 this has essentially been me since the announcement. I’m doing my best to look on the positive side, but if you couldn’t tell…change and I don’t get along and Corellian Run meant a lot to me)

    So, I sent in a ticket asking if 16-man HM was the only one that should have the text and it was forwarded to bug report. Not sure if it really is a bug though. I guess we’ll see if they really do add it tomorrow? But yeah, my tickets have been a bit confused about before @-@

    Though, I have to wonder, if the patch isn’t 1.4 (which is still definitely possible), I wonder what would take 8 hours? The transfers are an option, of course, but did they have such a long downtime anytime they’ve done transfers? And it seems they didn’t do full testing with the High Population test server yet either…

    Edit:

    I can confirm that Game Update 1.4 will not be deployed during maintenance tonight; we are continuing testing on the PTS right now.

    Rumors continue

    So, some of the discussion from the High Population Server test seems to have come back to light.

    It seems there are more rumors that servers may get further merged into the following:
    PvE East
    PvE West
    PvP East
    PvP West
    RPVP East
    RPVP West

    I have…mixed feelings honestly. I really like Corellian Run, obviously, so I wouldn’t want that stressness again >_> Corellian Run is the top PVE East Server according to TOR Status, but I don’t know if that actually means anything.

    Anyway, I shall try and just go back to cave and Wonderous Egg research before I stress myself out. 😛

    When your dream is completely about the new operation and what secrets it could have 😐

    I went to bed a little bit earlier than usual due to reasons, but ended up waking up for a bit anyway (thirsty). Regardless, the craziness of my head did make me think a lot about it and part of me wondered if there was more to it.

    I mean, what if there’s a buff when you finish HM 16-man or something that if you go back to the cave with it, something happens?

    Just makes me think there may be more to the instance itself. Hopefully when it does come over though (and thus, people have all their gear), we can try and explore the instance some more itself for anything.

    A Lead on the Wonderous/Wondrous Egg

    So, if the person who let me use their story mode wasn’t awesome enough, they gave me a lead on the Wonderous/Wondrous egg. They told me where to ask some people and that they saw it drop about 3 months ago from Kephess on 16-man HM.

    It seems most of our leads are pretty dated as to when it was seen, but if I can find someone with it…that will be a miracle in itself. And if the egg has not been seen since that many months ago, maybe that is a bug issue in itself.

    Regardless, I will be making a character on their server and asking around. Wish me luck!

    Edit: Unfortunately, the people they told me to ask weren’t as helpful :/ Only one person responded to me (who had only joined the previous day) and the only thing they told that person to tell me is “Go to Hoth and talk to Chief Johnson at the second base.” …I feel like I shouldn’t believe that. Regardless, I’ll probably try it even if it is a load of crud.

    I will say though this is probably the biggest soul kicker though. I think I got my hopes up a bit too much.

    Edit 2: unsurprisingly, there is nobody with that name on any of the bases on Hoth. Also checked Ilum–same results.

    Continuing testing

    So, continuing with the cave theories, I found a nice person (Xivioke) to let me check out their story mode instance! 8-man story mode yields nothing, but going to explore a bit before checking out 16-man story mode.

    Will also stream for a bit :3 Stream closed now :3 But recording up as per usual~

    Edit: 16-man Story mode also has no message. It looks to be 16-man HM only. Very interesting.
