So, I am doing NM EC tonight @-@ and am super scared. We got Zorn and Toth down but it was super scary and there were only 4 of us near the end and I was healing by myself and omgsoscary 🙁 BUT WE DID IT! So one new codex! Yay!

Now we’re going to do Nightmare Pilgrim <3 Edit: OMG T~T So, a nice person on the fleet gave me 3 pets! SO AWESOME. So now I have a Micro-Patroller Droid, a Micro-Defender Droid, and a Mottled Blurrg 😀 Shall upload with their pictures later tonight <3 So, pets still needed: -Tundra Nekarr Cat -Speckled Blurrg -Lurked Blurrg -Micro-Aggressor Droid -Green-Spotted Gizka But yay for progress T~T Edit 2: NM EC is evil and I hate it ._.

Edit: New Cartel Pack :/ Obviously new pets… will be trying soon. There is a Life Day Bundle–seems to contain everything. Worth it for everything I want. I don’t care for the Life Day Robes, but it was cheaper than buying everything else separately. Not sure what I will do with them yet…

Got the Life Day pack. There’s Grade 7 Star Parts (1,300 for all of them) up for sale. I’m tempted, but not going to get them just yet… I’d rather buy them with credits. Also, no luck on the Czerka Crate-o-Matic with my 28 boxes 🙁

Saw someone with a Mottled Blurrg…there’s one new pet. The other new pet confirmed is the one in the picture of the pack which is the Tundra Nekarr Cat.. so up to 2 now.

Thrones and things~

The throne is under 2 million T~T Yay. Must hope it continues to go lower. Shall continue stalking it.

In the meantime, I’ve mostly been trying to figure out what else to do. Don’t really have a good way to earn credits (I could try reverse engineering some stuff on Amidaia, but nobody is going to do materials for 26’s and I don’t have the stuff to make them) which puts a damper on most of my ideas.

Half-tempted to make more edits and make a suggestion thread but I suck at edits and I’m too shy so 😛 (edit: broke down and made a suggestion thread)

Anyway, I got a response from Customer Support about those Cartel Coin Cards (REMEMBER, THEY ARE NOT OUT YET AND STILL BEING FINALIZED)… I don’t remember sending them a question though? Maybe it was about the question I asked in the Q&A?

Regardless, what they said:
1. The pet WILL DEPEND on where you buy it. So yes, you can only get the specific pet from the specific vendor. You will not be able to find that pet at any other vendors.

2. Pricing details are unknown right now (although, the original question did mention like 20 dollars so we shall see…)

3. The pet should be shown on the card with the amount.

I shall continue waiting eagerly for the proper announcement when they start showing up in stores T~T

I think I’ll go on the balloon and pull people up to the sandcrawler randomly again.

Oh, and I learned that is actually something called the Firaxan Shark (aka Firaxa) which explains the shark mount. Interesting.

I’m going to hope for a Pink Dolphin throne next.

The Hardest Pet

This is something I actually get asked a lot! What pet is the hardest to get?

To be honest, that’s not actually an easy question. Just like what pet is the rarest–it’s not a question that is easy to answer just because there’s a lot of different factors to indicate what makes it hard.

As an example, here are some of the top contenders:
Minimech CE + Hutt Observer – These are considered hard by some people due to needing to have the Collector’s Edition to get them. Of course, if you have the Collector’s Edition, it isn’t very hard, is it?

Little Sandcrawler/Interrogation Droid – Depending on which alignment you are going for, one (or both if you are playing neutral/grey) of these pets may seem hard due to needing to grind down to an opposite alignment to use it.

Mouse Droid – If you’re one to lose things or do not have a smartphone (yes, there are people who don’t have one!), this pet may seem hard due to the fact that you can only get it from a Security Vendor.

The Czerka Eye – If you’re more of a solo player (yes, there are people who have played the game by themselves completely!), this pet may seem hard due to the Social Requirement.

M0-GUL Thrall Droid – Due to it’s rare drop rate (although, it is much more common in Nightmare now) and the fact that you need at least 7 other people to try for it, this is considered to be hard.

Taunta – Taunta is the most expensive pet you can buy off the GTN at 200K. So, if you’re poor like me, this could be ahard 😛

Taunling – Due to the rare drop rate and the fact that it’s gotten from a World Boss (Which, of course, other people may be hunting for loot, quests, and/or codex), this can be considered hard.

Taunlet – Taunlet can be considered difficult due to several reasons. Besides needing to find it before the coordinates were posted, if you were not Biochem, you also needed to find someone to make it for you… and if you were Biochem, you still needed the schematic in the first place. And with only 2/5 ingredients being gotten through Biochem, that wasn’t exactly all you needed either.

Taun Fawn – Due to the fact that you can only get the code from conventions or things Bioware held for fans, this makes it a bit of a hard to get pet. Sure, there’s Ebay and occasionally contests held on fansites and SWTOR’s official twitter, but it’s definitely still a challenge.

Orokeet – Hunting around to get an egg and the journey to hatch it can be considered hard.

Midnight Rakling – Once again…drop rates.

Lawgriffarl + Lobelisk – PVP. Especially hard if you hate PVP.

Deep Wriggler – TFB is the hardest operation, ignoring difficulty levels (As NM EC is obviously the hardest thing out right now), at the moment. Even though the Deep Wriggler seems to have a high drop rate, there’s still a matter of killing TfB on HM which, while a lot of guilds have gotten it done now, there’s still many having trouble…and that doesn’t mean the people going care about pets in the first place.

The Cartel Market Pets – Not even just packs, but any that involve this kind of currency, people may consider hard…then we get to the packs with the chance of getting them…and of course the super rare ones: The Red-Backed Gizka and the Ruddyscaled Monkey-lizard. All hard in their own ways.

I would say that the Crimson Rakling also gets a big mention due to having to find all those ship parts which was essentially just wandering around aimlessly hoping to find them before coordinates came out.

For those reasons, a lot of these pets are also considered rare. Other rare pets are the Pale Rakling, the Gannifari, the Hagnoffarl, the Tauntaun Ram, and the Lobelot due to being pets you just…can’t get anymore. They were either event-based or given out for an achievement and who knows if they will ever be gotten some other way.

Thus why the which pet is the hardest/rarest is kind of hard to answer 😛 Hardest really depends on the person… if they hate PVP, the PVP pets will be the hardest… if they can never get groups together, raid, world boss, and flashpoint dropped and social requirement pets will be the hardest… If they have a lot of trouble earning credits, the expensive pets will be the hardest….

For rare, it becomes an argument over how many people have it vs. the retirement of the pet. A lot of people have the Gannifari and Tauntaun Ram as they were given to EVERYONE subscribed at the time. Meanwhile, the Pale Rakling and Lobelot, while they took more effort, could come back one day.

But yes, in short: There’s really no clear way to say which pet is rarest or hardest to get. It really depends on the person. And even if people say “the rarest is the pet that the least people have”…that is only half right as there’s the chance of a lot of people just not caring for it (thus, even if it’s technically rare, it’s not “rare” in the sense of wanting) or if it’s new…well, of course it’s rare, it just came out (Even if it may be gotten in a very common way–like just going to the vendor and buying it).

…I’ll stop talking now.

At least right now. I ended up receiving an e-mail (from the awesome Eric Musco) about it and it turns out that is still being finalized!

It turns out, that knowledge base question went live on the site in error. The information contained in it, isn’t actually correct. What I know right now is that our information regarding retailers, Cartel Coins, and any additional promotions isn’t actually confirmed yet.

The question IS being removed from the site (and thus, I will be updating the pet guides and whatnot accordingly). When it IS finalized and confirmed, they will be properly announcing this so for now, let’s just keep on the look-out!

On the brightside, we don’t have to stalk Gamestop and Best Buy just yet 😛

So, according to this lovely support question thingy… well:

The currently available pets are:

Yep, that means BestBuy and GameStop will have special cards with the pets. From what it sounds like, they will be $20 cards so yeah. I haven’t seen any yet and there aren’t any on their websites, but I will be keeping an eye out and at the very least, update the pet guide.

I’m expecting the cards to start popping up closer to Christmas, but I’m sure some people will get them early.

Pets and Packs

So, with another Data Dump comes a bit of info.

Besides the mention of the Life Day Pack which I expect to be the next Cartel Pack, there is a new pet mention:

The Crested Orokeet is most likely an Orokeet with a special ornament of some kind and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s in the box.

It’d be the first alternate version of a pet though so that will be interesting.

Unfortunately, the Cartel Market is down on the test server 🙁 so no trying it out… BUT THAT MAKES IT ALL THE MORE SUSPICIOUS…

Pictures and Rumors

So, I finally updated the trade page with pictures~ Yay :3

But now, onto rumors!

Current rumor is that if you beat NM EC within 2 hours, that is how you get the pet…and of course, rumors that it is the Wonderous Egg are still circulating. I kind of hope this isn’t true as I really am not fond of the rare pets… too many people who want them just to show off and boost their ego :/ But I guess we’ll have to see.

Moving on, I saw a nice gold tiara/circlet thingy… unfortunately, I couldn’t inspect them (every time I tried to, even though they were next to me, it kept showing my gear) and my screenshots were acting up after getting the pictures for the trade list… 🙁 Wish I could try and find it, but not much to go on.. and the person never responded to my whisper either 🙁

Pet Analyzation

While I wait for my boyfriend to get up so we can try out the Belsavis Dailies (although, we’d have to find 2 more people for one of them), I have decided to wander around near the entrance to the area and the fleet and see what pets people may have.

Essentially, this helps me figure out what pets are ingame without bugging people and/or getting trolled by jerks.

And of course, I’ll look for mounts too, but those are a bit harder to identify, sadly.

I will only be counting the ones in the Cartel Packs for now because, well, you can kind of see the ones not in the pack already so…

All of the pets from Dulfy’s Guide have been found and were carried over to live.

As for SWTOR-Spy’s list, I know some people have gotten thrones, but I don’t think it is any of those… another similarly named one is the Ubrikki Crimson Skull which I haven’t seen, but I have seen the Ubrikki Crimson Claw.

Moving on to pets, the only ones seen thus far have been the Red-Backed Gizka and the Ruddyscale Kowakian Monkey-lizard. No others from their pet list have been spotted yet or if they have, nobody has said anything.

The main thing is there are a lot of “What if’s” and I would like to not see something like the Wonderous Egg happen ever again. EVER.

which I think is why it upsets me so much they didn’t release a list. For the record, a list wouldn’t ruin the money they’d make (in fact, more often than not, you’d actually encourage more people to try a box) as usually what sells is the actual opening/surprise factor.

One of my favorite things when I was little was when my dad would come home with boxes of Pokemon cards and Beanie Baby cards and he and my mom and I would sit on the bed and open all of them and organize them because opening booster packs was ridiculously fun and there were so many. That is essentially what these work on–that surprise factor and the excitement of opening something.

Just think to Christmas morning–sure, what was actually in the gift was nice, but a big part of it was just opening it and the more you had to open, the more exciting it was. With each box, the excitement increased.

and this is why people go in debt because of stupid things like this and if you see me thinking of buying more boxes, someone SLAP me.

…and for some reason, I keep getting an error when trying to log in 😐 So I guess research will be delayed which stinks. I was looking forward to it.

…seriously, this blog is like SWTOR research central. It’s why it was made. And then for some reason all of you people started reading it 😛

Anyway, I guess I’ll just talk for a bit while I wait until they somehow fix this (speaking of which, I noticed the time is off on the website… I guess they didn’t modify for DST? But I’m not sure how to change that either).

Umm…firstly, I hope they come out with customizations for HK-51. I think he’d look nice in HK-47’s copper.

I really hope we can do Dreadtooth soon. Really want to look into that cave more and since current ideas are based off a mask and necklace that drop from him (well, necklace most likely also drops from him–just on much higher stacks), I kind of need to start doing him? Of course, the guild is currently focused on NM EC as are many guilds with firsts in mind and whatnot (but honestly, how can you appropriately evaluate a first anyway? If someone starts earlier than you and has more time doing it, it’s not really a surprise if they get it first. It seems kind of odd to judge something if you don’t have everyone start at the same time)… but I just want to solve Cave mysteries 🙁

speaking of Cave Mysteries, that was part of the fun with scanning even if it took FOREVER. It was like being an archeologist~ Considering how the story is on the Republic side, I probably will have to do HK again on my Imperial character as it’s just so much different. Part of me is looking forward to it as I did have fun, but parts of it scared me. I’M LOOKING AT YOU CREEPY SHIP. Regardless, this is making me want to finish up Corellia and Ilum for Amidaia, but I’m pretty sure my boyfriend still wants to work on his bounty hunter with Cellina 🙁 Don’t get me wrong, the agent story is quite interesting, but I hate doing things out of order and skipping around. Having several companions with various levels isn’t very fun to me.

MOVING ON… someone did finish EC HM but I saw no pet drop 🙁 Which makes me sad. I mean, it was confirmed a pet would drop from EC NM but I can’t help and be paranoid ._. of course, just because it doesn’t have a high drop rate doesn’t mean it doesn’t drop either…

Regardless, a lot of people in the guild have offered me some of their pets from the Cartel Shop so I am looking forward to when things become unbound. I will also be stalking the GTN like no tomorrow (despite the fact that I am poor and have no money and it will probably make me even more sad if I wasn’t sad enough by how much my luck sucks and these stupid boxes). In the meantime, I have started crossing things out.

While I was hoping to do trades, I don’t think anyone would want any of the stuff I’ve gotten. Of course, I may update with some stuff my boyfriend wants to get rid of or etc. so I guess I will mention when it gets updated… Also, it’s under the “Contact Me” section if anyone was curious.

speaking of items, I have a good contest idea…just need to get something people would actually want 😐

Oh, and I know I don’t have many pictures up… I will hopefully be taking pictures of the pets soon. At least, the ones I have. I don’t think taking a picture on the preview screen looks too great and I’d feel bad using other people’s pictures so… but I shall do my best to have them all soon x__x of course, we don’t even know how many there are yet.
