So, I’ve noticed a lot of new sign ups recently… and this may partially be due to cave-related things. Thus, I will take a moment to go over some things :3

I am a girl, I love the color pink, and I pretty much only play healers. My favorite two things in games are collecting things and exploring. I am also quite fond of puzzles.

Thus, 90% of this blog will be about pets, collecting other stuff, lore, exploration, and puzzles. The rest will be me ranting about repetition, credits/money, and raiding :3

This is not a traditional SWTOR blog. I don’t write about things just to let people know unless it’s because I’m personally excited about it. More often than not, I’ll put in my own commentary or thoughts.

The original purpose of this blog was to keep track of things for my own sake, but then people started finding it somehow and it’s gotten some attention for pets and puzzle solving.

Onto the cave matters, it’s still a huge mystery. I know an Orb was mentioned recently (not actually ingame, but in the data) which has spouted a lot of new theories. And with Dreadtooth going down on 5 stacks, it seems 7 stacks may need to be what we’ve been waiting to see. Of course, unless it’s a 100% drop in the first place, it doesn’t mean much. …really, I’ll just be sad I won’t get to test it out whenever someone finally gets those items 🙁 I’ve been keeping track of theories, but haven’t put the orb up yet as I want to look into that more first. I don’t remember seeing it when the Amulet was first added and if it was an item added later, it may actually be for later content.

Regardless, with Makeb coming in Spring and the 5 level increasement, I’m sure Dreadtooth will be down then, if not sooner. At the very least, it’s always nice to try and work together for the sake of puzzle solving :3

So, a new patch comes and besides fixes, there’s the inevitable edition of new Cartel Items (plus new discounts and the removal of all the Life Day and Anniversary related stuff).

What really caught my attention though is the Czerka CR-17 Incendia. Why? Ignoring my collectingness, it’s actually because of this:

The protection provided from being knocked off this vehicle is greater than Speeder Piloting III.

I’m not really sure what to think about it, but it makes me feel a little down. Especially as I personally prefer 2 other speeders and for the best protection, I’d have to use that one 🙁 It also costs 1,800 Cartel Coins X__x And is a model I know a lot of people have wanted.

Besides that, there’s 3 new armor sets: Sand People Pillager Set, The Sanctified Caretaker Set, and the Malevolent Interrogator Set at 1,440 each and a special Preferred Player’s Pack which has a bundle of stuff. I don’t really care for any of them though.

On the bright side, I found someone to sell me a Flamehair Kowakian Monkey-lizard so I have all the pets again. Yay. Just 10 Skip Tracer items and 2 Blockade Runner items to go now…

Also used the Cartel Coins I got from being a subscriber for another chance at the Skip Tracer packs… Got a Red-Orange crystal and a Republic Banner 🙁 *sighs*

Cartel Worries

Seriously, if you don’t read the Dev Tracker, you really really should. It is very awesome and it even talks about the lovely fix they are doing on the Phantom/Spymaster Changes :3 Plus even a chance to test the expansion! (if only I lived in Texas–I’d so sign up and hope 🙁 if only I could do it from NY~)

But yes, this entry is more about this lovely excerpt:

Do you have a pre-set number of packs and items set up ahead of time for a certain period of time?
We develop a set of these packs (we call them a ‘Shipment’) at one time. Shipment 1 will have 4 packs associated with them (not counting the cheap pack), with one additional pack coming out before Rise of the Hutts. After that, a new shipment will come out, likely with a new name (instead of ‘Cartel Packs’, they will be ‘Contraband Packs’, for example).

Developing a shipment has a long lead time. Most of the art for shipment 2 is already complete, and we are currently in planning stages for shipment 3. This is not to say that we can’t slide things around, or pull something forward or get something in a hurry if we see a great idea or if something on the market really sells. But the capacity for this kind of movement is very limited.

We also want these packs to have a reasonable life post-removal. As a result, we philosophically resist actually adjusting the internal math of these packs (i.e. what’s in them, at what drop rate) after they’ve been released, so that the value of the packs is a known quantity. This is not to say we never would do so if there was a serious problem — but we really don’t want to. Short form: there likely will be a time in the future where the GTN is the ONLY place to buy a Skip Tracer’s Pack.

Essentially, this means 2 more packs are coming (Space Pirate being one of them) which will finish up the “Cartel Pack” set and at least 4-8 more 🙁

I mean, it’s good they are keeping the market updated…but god, it’s hard enough to catch up. I have 300K to my name now and that’s essentially my emergency fund. I still haven’t figured out how I plan to get a Flamehair Kowakian Monkey-lizard 🙁

This also does confirm (though, it was expected) that the packs will eventually discontinue.

If only the Cartel Market could be helpful without the gamble-boxes ._.

So, I officially have all 4 Starfighters now! Unfortunately, I still need a Flamehair Kowakian Monkey-lizard. Though, that only will take care of pets @-@

I just hope I can get them all before the next pack, but considering I still have stuff left from the Blockade Runner’s, my hopes are pretty down 🙁

Game Update 1.7

Well, it’s coming up and it looks like having multiple characters for it may be important. (You can read about it here and here) The Ilum event is happening still it seems. I…really hope you won’t get instant flagged in the area, but I know we probably will and it will mostly be PVP centered as that was kind of what they were hoping to do.

So I guess I should be prepared to be killed repeatedly by all those hardcore PVPers 🙁 Regardless, I will do my best to finish the event as always. Hopefully I can find some people willing to do it with me (and my boyfriend better get up early >_>).

Now, I’m just going to quote the bit about reputation systems for a second:

The Galactic Reputation system lets you earn Reputation points by completing missions for factions such as the Gree or the Voss, or for military divisions within the Republic and the Empire. This new system advances characters through six ranks of increasing prestige: “Outsider”, “Newcomer”, “Friend”, “Hero”, “Champion”, and “Legend”. Galactic Reputation is also tied to a character’s Legacy, so Reputation points and ranks are shared across all the characters within the same Legacy!

I do not have much experience with Reputation Systems, but if I recall correctly, you can do stuff for everyone, but sometimes it’ll lower reputation with other sections? Since it is legacy-based, I’m guessing you could, theoretically, get all 4 up to Legend as long as you focus on certain ones per character (IE: Voss + Republic with one while Gree + Empire on another)… if I understand it correctly. …I’ll just do my best 🙁

Anyway, it sounds like there will at least be armor sets and weapons through the event vendor which should make people happy. I know there was mention of a mount in a data dump a while back that may be gotten through this. And there’s a lot of pets currently MIA so we shall see.

I do hope the Gray Secant is an instance. Last thing we need is people fighting with eachother to kill the guy in the center x__x

So yay for offering people lots of chances. I do wonder if it will just be for this year though.

Anyway, if things are still going as planned, this will probably happen at the end of January at the earliest @-@ Which is like 2 weeks.

In which I explain some frustrations

1. As everyone knows, I hate random boxes. I really do. So random boxes that you need to buy with real money suck and I fail miserably at earning credits. That is the plain and simple truth.

Which means with more than half the pets now out being in Cartel Packs, the fact that at least one more Cartel Pack is coming, and the fact that I am not made of money, I am ridiculously screwed. I’m still stuck catching up with some things from the last pack. Heck, I still need a bunch of stuff from this pack too–all this finishes are the pets.

2. After 3 bits of guild drama, just the idea of guilds has gotten me really really down. I’m not even a big fan of raiding to be honest. It stresses me out and I cry if I screw up and I hate letting people down.

I enjoy doing an operation once–for the story and that’s it. Gear is not SUPEROMGNEED priority for me. It never has been. And yet, I constantly feel the pressure of needing have to because people are so critical. What really bothers me though is I’m forced to do it repeatedly for:
1. Codexes/titles
2. Vanity Items

I REALLY wish it was just gear. Every difficulty was just gear and none of that other stuff was in it. I hate feeling forced to do it, let alone repeatedly. People raid for the best gear in the game. They get that best gear, they will be ahead, be able to clear things the best, so I wish all that other stuff wasn’t paired with it. Not to mention with raiding comes the drama of who cleared it first or when or how they cleared it or how many people they had and WHO CARES.

If they cleared the content, good for them. Getting picky on difficulty or the amount of people is stupid and judging people by what they have or don’t have is as well. It’s mean 🙁 And everyone should just be happy for eachother’s accomplishments–not picking on someone or saying they did it the “easy way” or whatever.

This is kind of my issue with Ranked Rating. The point of Ranked Warzones was for people to have competition (aka the people who should’ve rolled on a PVP server to begin with 🙁 ) and to see so many exclusive items is kind of heart breaking. I think if there’s ever a ranked warzone related pet, I will just quit right there because I’ll never get it. I’m awful at PVP, I hate PVP, and everytime someone kills me, I cry.

But yes, overall, #1 is probably bothering me the most to the point where logging in is making me sad over excited. I love the game, I love the story, I enjoy playing my characters. I don’t enjoy how it feels to want to enjoy the game through collecting and the story and be slapped in the face for that.

I’m not super-uber-hardcore raider. But I’m not super-casual-play as I go. And it seems because I’m not either one, I’m getting a huge slap in the face and it’s just really really depressing.

*sighs*

So, those lovely credits I had gotten from two awesome people will most likely be gone by the time I get these next two Starfighters and Monkey-lizard considering the prices I’m going to end up having to pay.

Stinks that my needed items from the Cartel Market list just keeps growing. Really starting to get to me v-v

Just random Cartel Market chatter

The first items should start appearing on the GTN around 10PM or so tonight.

The Diplomat’s Meditation Chair has already begun lowering which isn’t too surprising. I expect the new one to actually go for more as I think people will prefer the Blue coloring (I personally prefer the original). I’d actually be able to afford one now, but I’d rather save every bit I can for the 7 pets I still need.

It doesn’t help that the 7 pets I need are all the ones that will probably sell for the most.

We have the Blue-Speckled Gizka. Gizkas are usually pretty popular and only the green (which, while still cute, I do think the other two in the trio look nicer) didn’t sell for too much.

I do think the Womp Weasels and the Larva will sell for the least. They…kind of terrify me ._. I’ll find them cute in their own way soon. I’m sure I will. Once I stop feeling like they may eat me.

The Model Starfighters are what I expect to go for the most for 3 reasons:
1. They are the rarest
2. You’re playing Star Wars. Ships that can follow you around while doing random tricks = appeals to a lot of people.
3. You can apparently have a Starfighter and another Pet out at the same time.

The Monkey-lizard will probably go for a good amoutn to, but mostly be all over.

Everything else will vary a lot, though, out of the random stuff, I think Emote: Backflip and the Holo-Shrub disguise will go for the most.

And supposedly there is a third mount 🙁 but I can’t find any information on it.
