Mixed feelings

Despite happiness earlier, it kind of went a little messy as the day went on to the point where now I feel more sad than anything.

Ignoring a whole issue with timing (Laying down taking longer and then not long after, being dragged off to go out to dinner), apparently when I signed off (due to not having slept in over 24 hours and still feeling ill from the previous day), it disconnected me. So, I was waited for…despite me saying I was going to go for a bit as I wasn’t feeling well and figured laying down a little could help–plus, more tanks would be on later and I would be back later.

I had been with someone who I made friends with and a new guildmate of ours at the time after various incidents.

Afterall, it started with one of our guildmates asking me about Lost Island HM knowing I was planning to do it after I got Taunling as much as I could. I was excited and said yes. We found two people to do it (after like 2 hours) with–a tank who hadn’t done it before and one of their guild mates for the other DPS. Obviously, if it’s your first try in Lost Island, there will be quite a few deaths. It’s not surprising at all and it can be a huge pain. However, we were all understandable. It was slow, but we continued through. When we got to the Robot, one of our DPS had to go after a few tries. Not long after, my guildmate disconnected. We waited…and waited…and after about 40 minutes, we realized we couldn’t keep waiting as our Tank was only able to play in early hours and he wouldn’t be able to stay too much longer. We ended up asking another one of my guildmates (and it was his first time in the FP as well) to come and they were happy to and after waiting a little longer, had to kick the other guildmate. After recruiting another DPS, it didn’t go too well (After all, the Robot Boss is harder with melee and 2 of the people in the FP were new to this), however, they couldn’t stay long either. Thankfully, a friend of mine was on who was willing to come.

So, after several tries, we get the Robot down, I learned we could skip the Rhino boss and we got to the lava-smashy-light on fire boss. Unfortunately, our guild member seemed to have some trouble figuring out exactly where to stand so he was pushed off a few times. Besides that, some people sticking too close together caused a bit too much damage. Eventually, our tank had to go and so I said it may be better to try and do it later (unfortunately, Lost Island did reset which sucks–I wish I knew what caused it to or how long it takes to reset a flashpoint) as we might be able to ask some of our guilds’ tanks to come and more people will be on so I could get some rest and we could take a small break. And this leads us to what I said to start. Because it disconnected me, apparently they waited and so I got back to an angry message in my inbox with just made me feel like utter crud for something out of my control and despite the fact that I was saying I’d be gone for a bit. I did respond explaining, but considering they signed on and no reply, I guess they didn’t care πŸ™

I also, once again, tried to see if anyone was selling Advanced Resolve Armoring 25 (as I need this at least to wear my new belt) or Advanced Resolve Armoring 26 (as I will need at least 6 of these to get my gear up–I already have one in my top). I got a response from someone letting me know they were making some of the Armoring 26 and that they’d be putting them up on the market tomorrow. Ignoring my personal feelings on the fact that I find those prices ridiculous (even if that’s apparently the going price), I responded truthfully that I never had 3 million in my entire time playing the game. I received a response back that pretty much said “that sucks” and they signed off before I could say anything else.

For the record, the most I ever had in this game is a little over 2 million and only once. I’m usually lucky if I have over 500K or over 1 million, but anything more is practically a miracle. …and apparently, that’s quite pitiful ._.

In a happier note, while I managed to get nothing else done, I did at least get those final 10 daily commendations and bought my Campaign Relic of Ephemeral Mending.

And in a confusing note, apparently there is an Imperial Character (who is also a healer) on Canderous Ordo named Marilea in a guild called DeathStarz. So much for my name being unique. So, I guess I should mention that I only play on Corellian Run. I do not have any characters on any other servers (with the exception of Marilea and Roseria also being on the Test Server) so…yeah. If I do make characters on a different server, I will be sure to add them to the Character Page. …and if you are that person who also picked the name Marilea, I guess I’m curious how you came up with it? Or something? I don’t know. I can’t even think of words to explain my feelings about this ATM. @-@ And since my boyfriend had to point it out, thank god we were a destination server. I have to wonder what would happen if they tried to transfer to the test server though. :/

For now, I’ll just get my computer and laptop to start patching and head to bed so I can play 1.3 ASAP (hopefully I will wake up early).

Interesting Changes and Other News

So today, I did… *gasp* Dailies. Yep. Why, you ask? Because I wanted to get the relic/matrix cube I am hoping to use an Augment Kit on. I am now only 10 short so doing Corellia and then a little of Ilum should give me what I need. What surprised me though was that they changed the evil Daily flashpoint on Belsavis. It is DOABLE now. And it’s so much nicer. It almost made it fun and less like a chore. …regardless, I still hate dailies.

Besides that, I managed to get the speeder from HM False Emperor so yay~

Unfortunately, still no pet luck. Gargath is up, but I doubt I’ll find a group at this time πŸ™

Anyway, I’m not sure what I will be doing later besides doing Corellia and some of Ilum. I do know, however, that before I log off, I will be signing out next to the PVP Item Vendor.

I’ll probably stalk Gargath some more, maybe do some Lost Island…and hopefully find a group of people who wouldn’t mind finishing up HM Karagga with me (from Fabricator onward)… and also hopefully people in whichever groups those are won’t mind passing on the pet πŸ™ but something tells me that’ll be the hardest part.

SWTOR E3 2012

If you missed it, check it out here.

SO EXCITED.

So, quick overview of what they said:
New Space Mission: Space Station Assault–definitely looks like a lot more moving around.
New Operation: Terror from Beyond (At least I’ve finished EC on normal?…but god this looks creepy)
New Companion: HK-51 Assassin Droid (Which has been known for a while)
New Level Cap and Combat Abilities. – I wish they stated what the new level cap will be @-@ Thankfully, it won’t really be grinding with the other new stuff.
New Warzone: Ancient Hypergates
New Planet: Makeb (BRONTO-SHIP)
New Race: Cathar
Harder version of Nightmare/Difficulty modes.

So excited for more story!

And this is apparently coming in July?! Dear god x___x oh phew, just the Level 15 thing. Rest will just be sometime this year.

Some interesting tidbits:
While only Cathar and HK-51 were confirmed specifically, they did say races and companions. Same goes with Ancient Hypergates as Warzones also was plural.

Also going to bring up this from Dulfy.

And from the little chat:
1:28 Dr. Ray Muzyka, Co-Founder of BioWare, is now on stage to talk about Star Wars: The Old Republic.
1:28 ”Our goal is to provide a living service that’s always on.”
1:29 The Old Republic will be adding new PvP warzones to the game, along with more challenging group and high-level content, including a new version of Nightmare difficulty mode.
1:30 Group finder, ranked PvP, and character transfers are now available, and level caps have been increased for every class.
1:30 A new planet, Makeb, will introduce new storylines and more. There are also new companion characters and playable species coming soon.
1:31 Looks like one of the new companions is an Assassin Droid! Lots of sneak peeks in this trailer.

Things I’d like to get done before this happens:
1. Get Amidaia to level 50. (Preferably, I’d like to get Aurorra, Cellina, Miisha, and Zoara to level 50 as well, but I won’t have time for that if the date is correct and I don’t think I’ll have the 3 million for Miisha and Zoara anyway)
2. Get all of Amidaia’s companions to 10,000 affection. (Would include others too if I was getting them to level 50, but yeah)
3. Get the pets I still need (M0-GUL Thrall Droid, Midnight Rakling, Taunling, and Wondrous Egg/Orochick).
4. Get the Legacy Ship Unlocks I want T___T
5. Have a good amount of money saved up (and maybe rocket boots too)

I’d love to be more geared as well in preparation for the new Operation, but due to feelings mentioned in the last entry, I don’t know if I’m ready to go for EC some more (and Lost Island and I don’t get along too well either).

Ugh, I’m so excited but now I’m stressing T___T Too much to do!

However, I’ve noticed some people are either annoyed or saying how SWTOR has failed due to the “free to play until level 15” …except it’s been this way for months with the friend trials and free play weekends. And it’s not a bad thing! That lets people try the game and see if they like it. There’s many pay to play games I did not try because I didn’t want to pay to try them. And then when they would finally do a free trial, part of my dislike for the game would be I’d feel too far behind to catch up as I’m a collector. The fact that they are doing this early and giving people a chance to play the first two planets, see their story, and even do their first flashpoint is a great idea and it’s stupid to think that’s “ruining the game”–even if it’s going to be more opened.

To Rakghoul or not to Rakghoul: That is the question

At this point, we have gotten everything we’ve wanted (Well, my boyfriend is thinking of collecting the other companion skins for the heck of it) and finished the containment officer outfit, so we’re wondering if we should even still continue? Main reason we’re even debating it is there may be something special at the end, but I really hope they don’t do that. We were hoping to maybe grind up our Imperial alts until we found out that the dailies are essentially…literally dailies. You have to do them each day for the new quests to pop up and with the event ending Tuesday (And I actually have to leave on a trip next week so I will be packing Sunday and Monday), there’s not enough time to do it which is kind of depressing as I know he really wanted the Imperial Containment Suit too (and it’s unfortunately bind on pick-up).

With those out of the way and with Taunlet now gotten, however, that brings us back to just needing groups for the other pets which is a pain to get together and then a lot of them will probably want the pet too and fsl;afkafl;asf;lafs X__x I don’t mind helping people get their pets. I have no issue going back after getting mine and helping them out, but with my horrible drop luck and OCPD, I just like getting them out of the way ASAP. It helps me relax a lot more and then I’m not panicking every 20 10 5 seconds always. At the moment, I’m just sitting by Karagga’s as I haven’t been there in a while and when it comes down to it, I really like doing things in order so if I chose how to get pets, it’d be:

1. Karagga’s Palace – Due to being pre-1.2
2. Taunling – Gargath – World Boss = before Hard Modes
3. Midnight Rakling & Mysterious Egg – HM Lost Island (newest Flashpoint)
4. Wondrous Egg – Still unconfirmed, but supposedly from Explosive Conflict (New operation)

So yeah, I like to take care of them in foremost and then if they came out at the same time…by difficulty since that’s essentially the order I would get them in while leveling up.

In the meantime, my computer is having a mental break down πŸ˜€ And I really need a new computer (and a new laptop as well because apparently the overheating issue is actually a manufacturer error and it could explode :3) which doesn’t help things either.

Besides continuing on my Pet Quest (and keeping the Tauntaun and Rakling/Other unmmentioned 1.2 pets threads updated on the official forums), I’m also continuing to save for Legacy Ship stuff–as for how it’s going, I have about 560K because I really really really suck at this πŸ˜€

Plans are still as follows:
1. Repair Droid – 1 million
2. Neutral GTN – 5 million
3. Mailbox – 500K
4. Both Dummies – 1 million

After that, I’ll probably either go for the Rocket Boots (2 million) or the Twi’lek race (1.5 million) so I get the other colors and can finally remake my Smuggler. I know my boyfriend also wants me to get the Zabrak Race I want to get for my Trooper (1.5 million as well), but if I do my Twi’lek first (most likely–I expect Trooper/Commando will be last for me out of all my characters), I’ll probably go for the rocket boots next. As for character playing, I expect it to be:
1. Sage (My main)
2. Sorcerer (Main Imperial)
3. Smuggler (Scoundrel) or Imperial Agent (Operative)
4. Whichever I don’t do above first
5. Bounty Hunter (Mercenary)
6. Trooper (Commando)

Also, since I’ve been asked why my blogs rarely ever have pictures… I usually type these on my laptop while I’m playing the game on my computer. If I had two screens on my computer, there’d probably be more pictures but since whenever I take a screenshot, it is on my computer and I can’t really minimize the game, it’s just a huge hassle. I’d love to have pictures, but just can’t ATM πŸ™

Oh, and I’m probably going to edit the categories a bit today and make things a bit more orderly. (OCPD, away~)

Various going-on’s for the day~

Firstly, Newly Infected = worst quest. That is horrible T__T *CREEPED OUT FOREVER* Unfortunately, it gives both the chest and belt so if you want both…you have to do it again 😐

Anyway, we’re getting our dailies done a bit late tonight. I had gotten home from work late and while we had planned to start after dinner, I was then brought along to a 16-man Explosive Conflict. This was only my second 16-man and my first time going to Explosive Conflict. We got the first boss down and Denova is just absolutely beautiful. So many waterfalls T~T

But yeah, we may try again later/tomorrow so that could be fun. (And we got another guild invite @-@ Though, as I said, we’re just kind of going solo right now due to depressing feelings)

I was hoping to get Taunlet today–found people who may be able to make it…but my computer crashed while talking to the one person (He made one…but then ate it by mistake πŸ™ Luckily, I had extra stuff but…bleh) and when I got back on, he was gone ._. The other person I just couldn’t catch. I do hope I get it soon.

But yes, that’s mostly what was done today. Not too much. Anyway, I shall hopefully get screenshots up for my character’s page eventually… just need to stop forgetting.

Raghoul Plague ends next week! + Aratech Coral

If you missed the announcement on the forums, you can see it here πŸ™‚ Essentially it will end the next patch/maintenance on the 24th.

I don’t expect there to be more than just the helmet and top left (You received the pants from the new daily today) so the rest will probably just be days to finish up. I’ll probably try the bosses again as apparently the title is working now. Hopefully I can get it.

My boyfriend thinks it may effect other planets and continue for a bit, but I think they may take a break from it. While I enjoyed the event, it kind of sucked to be infected when you don’t want to be…and if you do PVP and get killed, your antidote gets removed and you have to use another and they’re not exactly cheap (and you only get so many from quests).

On a different note, I just want to say I’m kind of disappointed with the Aratech Coral? Ignoring that you apparently have to kill each of the 4 bosses 3 times… (still need to figure out where you need to get the thingy for Nightmare Pilgrim) I guess because it’s called Coral I expected it to be…well, I don’t know…maybe Coral? So like Peach or Pink or actually

CORAL
(or even coral pink which would’ve been amazing)

or maybe that’s just me.

but I guess since I really wanted a pink-ish color speeder and the design is so pretty and coral and white would be awesome, it just makes me sort of sad πŸ™ (and purple isn’t even a shade of coral)

Guilds

As most people know by now, we are currently not in a guild. We have, at the time of writing this, received a total of 7 Republic Guild invites and 2 Imperial Guild invites. We have an idea of who we will end up joining, but the reason we’re not in a guild right now is a very simple reason:

We do not want to bring anyone down.

What happened on Thursday, despite the 1.2 awesomeness, really hit us hard and put a very bitter taste in our mouths towards the game. And it’s very hard to try and just shrug it off. And even a simple reminder of it reminds us why we haven’t joined a new guild yet.

However, it’s a catch-22 because right now, a lot of the stuff there is to do kind of needs a guild (seriously) as finding a pick-up group is a pain. The only other thing for us to do is PVP (Which neither of us care for much. Just trying to get our valor up every so often plus the codexes we need for Novare Coast…I think the interruption one is glitched though), dailies (so cruel–but need to start doing them again for the Black Hole Relic plus speeders…and money. I really want the ship stuff .___. Nearly everything can be two-manned except that heroic in a heroic with the Eshkah on Belsavis), and alts (which I have a lot of trouble being in the mood to play).

So it’s like, with so few things to do, it makes it even harder and more depressing about the old guild drama. At the same time, everything we really want to do needs a guild–and I know there won’t be room for us to raid to begin with as we’ll be the new group. We might be able to fill in…but that’s about it. And that’s kind of depressing.

And it’s like, we don’t want to bring people down. Or be unable to help and just taking space because our attitudes are a bit dampened.

and of course, this just makes pets being random drops even more frustrating as well as everywhere they drop also involves needing to be able to get a group together.

And when it comes down to it, I’m just not very good at it. But we don’t want to bother a guild either with stuff unless they would be all for helping and whatever.

Stupid catch-22’s.
Stupid random drops.
Stupid drama.
Stupid ship stuff being 7.5 million credits.

The Raghoul Pandemic Continues: Teamwork and New Quests?

So, after the initial rush of the event, it was nice to see people working together. Everyone was at the vendor just blowing up, infecting people, and letting the other side kill them when they were feverish in order to halve the time to get more DNA Samples and also to help with the quest that requires you to infect 10 people.

It was nice to just see people talking and working together. Unfortunately, we had a few people who just felt like jerks and tried to kill everyone regardless (More republics tried to kill the imperials which was actually a bit surprising) despite everyone telling them not to. Thankfully, everyone helping was nice and still continued to do so.

I kind of wish we could’ve taken turns with the World Boss and stuff too, but I guess some people really like to be server first *SERVERFIRSTOROKEET/UNUSUALEGGOVERHEREPEOPLE* though, in all seriousness, I didn’t actually get to it to be first on Corellian Run (although, a nice bonus), but just because I love pets and wanted to get it ASAP.

Anyway, the quest still seems to be on today! But what really surprised me was a piece of Escape Pod Depris (X: -793, Y: -1754, Z: 464). It was blue and had a little quest marker above it and I swear that wasn’t there yesterday. Will there be new quests added as it goes on? That is the big question lingering over my head right now. I really dislike repeating things (especially something that is like a Star Wars zombie invasion and dear god do I hate zombies), but I may have to keep checking back. And it makes me wonder if there’s other quests spread around too. Other than the main area quest, all the others are essentially “unlocked”

The Blood Sample quest is only if you get a certain drop while doing the main daily. From there, you get the bonus while taking care of whichever option you pick.

The Infecting quest you only get after you blow up on someone who wasn’t infected.

The Tracking the Origin Quest is just a huge mix of buffs and clickable things to activate the ability to get the quest.

And I highly doubt I’d have missed a glowing piece of debris with a quest marker on it. But it makes me wonder, just how many other quests could there be? Did I really miss something? The new quest DOES seem to give the Containment Officer Gloves, however, to go along with the one quest from yesterday (which is still around). It’s possible it will be a new quest a day (completing the outfit set) and thus, the event may last 5 days. Or maybe a week with all of them at the end? If it really is limited anyway.

In a different note, I really liked saving up to get the Pale Rakling (and being able to work together for people) and the crazy quest with getting the buffs and then hunting for the ship parts for the Crimson Rakling was also a lot of fun. Helped clear my mind off all the random drop pets. Now, if I could just figure out Taunlet and get more info on the Wonderous Egg…

Going back to the event for a second, if you haven’t read the codex entries for the Event (In a handy new “Events” section), it does tell you the story of, well, the Crash of the Stardream. Which, I shall now talk about momentarily.

Tatooine Infection: World Boss Insanity

So, there is currently a crazy event going on in Tatooine. Raghoul infection. A few world bosses during it. A new daily. And heck, you get the Pale Rakling from here (see my below post for those details). Wouldn’t be surprised in one of them drops the Crimson one.

Unfortunately, one of the world bosses is in a PVP area so there has been an epic battle in there for a while. Unfortunately, the imperials won πŸ™ There are more on the server and most of them are heavy PVPers so we lost. It sucked. And is super depressing. (Especially as we were there first) I wish we could’ve just worked together :/

But yes, back to finishing the dailies now…but all the competition is just stressing me out T___T I know people like PVP…but I would’ve joined a PVP server if I wanted to mix it in with my PVE to this degree πŸ™

For those who want more details…more or less, at 11AM EST today, a bunch of Jawas and Sand people were replaced by raghouls and infected crew and stuff at the Crash of the Stardream area in the Dune Sea. You then got an area quest which brought you through various things (and can apparently be done daily).

Spaceports started talking about the epidemic as well so lots of people started showing up at Tatooine.

The quest is simple and then optionally, you can kill 3 world bosses–2 which are new:
1. Trapjaw – a New infected version. Summoned the same way.
2. Urtagh – Located in the PVP area.
3. Zama Brak – Summoned from an Escape Pod at the Sarlacc Pit.

Killing all 3 gets you a special title. This event puts a new section in your Codex for “Events” and there’s 9 total.

Worst thing about this is Tatooine is incredibly hard on my computer so all the people and crazy effects is killing it. Game has crashed 3 times now πŸ™

Edit: Woo, finished everything. For some reason, didn’t get the title or last part of the codex line (#5) though πŸ™ Also still need 34 more DNA thingys for the pet.

Edit 2: Okay, title is glitched πŸ™ Got my pale Rakling at least though~ Crimson Rakling is part of quest that also gives you the #5 Codex! Here are the coordinates and what you need to do in order to get the quest:
1. Click Screen by Anchorhead Space port. It’s right near the entrance.
2. Click Escape Pod in Wall (X:1768, Y:-3621)
3. Click a little crate by the Cantina (X: 2348, Y:-3667)
4. Head back over near the Speeder and near where the mission drop box is, click the little terminal thing. (X:1822, Y:-3263)

Then get that quest done! πŸ˜€ (Very good guide for finding the parts!)

Adventuring vs. Random Drops vs. Buying vs. Gifts/Codes/Quests

Now, I’m going to say this as simple as possible: I’m quite unlucky in games when it comes to random drops. I will be the person you will be stuck waiting on for every “gather #” quest because they hate my guts. So, for this reason alone, I’m not fond of trying to farm enemies to try and get a random drop. To me, that is as bad as a grind and more often than not, you can only fight those enemies a certain amount of times a day/week.

So, I really hate that the only way to get the M0GUL-Thrall Droid is to get lucky (as it’s a rare drop) from Karagga’s even though he sends gold bomb droids to blow up in your face like every 5 seconds.

And that apparently the Mysterious Egg is dropped from a boss only on one difficulty and who knows the drop rate.

I really dislike that.

I like exploring. And adventuring. And really prefer any other method than to have to try and farm things to get lucky.

I think the way it was made to find the Unusual Egg was REALLY awesome. I was all for finding the Mysterious and Wonderous eggs the same way. And now? They might not exist like that. I’d like to hope maybe they’re available both ways, but there is no confirmation and BioWare is trying to be as vague as possible–which I don’t blame them for, afterall, you don’t want to just give everything away and ruin the adventure for the players, but just some confirmation so people aren’t all over the world or constantly killing things to let them know that way doesn’t work.

I don’t mind buying pets–in fact, that was how pretty much every single one, with the exception of the M0GUL-Thrall Droid was obtained, so I am glad they were trying to make things more interesting. To this moment, my journey to get my Magenta Lightsaber crystal was my FAVORITE thing thus far. I enjoyed it so much.

Getting them as Gifts and Codes works too. I have mixed feelings on them (as not everyone can get everywhere so thn you’re kind of stuck with Ebay for ridiculous prices), but I still prefer them to random drops.

However, if they were Quest rewards or GUARANTEED that when you killed Karagga or that boss, the droid/egg would be dropped, fine! I’m good with that. Of course, then it’d be too “common”….but is that ever really such a bad thing? There’s so many pets–it’s not like everyone will be using that one in the first place.

But most of all, this forces people who may not like to do operations or flashpoints or things like that (maybe being more of a solo player) into having to do them if they want all the pets while something like Exploration does not.
